With the release in 1971 of John Hartford's "Aereo?Plain" this ground breaking album ushered in the "new grass" sound. Influencing many artists like the New Grass Revival, Bela Fleck, and others to follow. It features Norman Blake, Tut Taylor, Vassar Clements and Randy Scruggs and produced by David Bromberg. Hartford's follow up album, a year later, was "Morning Bugle". Though never released on LP in the United States, it's brief release on compact disc in the 90s was short lived.
