Originally released on LP in 1961, the album hightlights the first year of the Andy Griffith Show on CBS Television featuring Andy performing with the Country Boys aka Kentucky Colonels. Roland, Clarence, Eric, Billy Ray and Leroy join Andy on Flop Eared Mule (actually Kickin Mule), Sourwood Mountain, New River Train and Cindy. The bands appearance on the first season of the program marked the first appearance of a bluegrass band on national television which can be seen on Sierra DVD 2005 "Clarence White - Guitar Workshop.
