On November 6, 2007, the anniversary of Gram Parsons' birthday, our good friends at Amoeba Records released the 2CD set "GRAM PARSONS ARCHIVES-VOLUME ONE" - live recordings of the Flying Burritos Bros. (Gram, Chris Hillman, Chris Ethridge, Sneaky Pete, Michael Clarke) from their April 1969 performance at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco!

Bootlegged numerous times for decades in terrible sound quality on cassette, vinyl LP and then CD ("Under Your Spill Again", etc), finally on this authorized release you will hear from the first time, the original studio quality recordings from the Grateful Dead Archives. Recorded professionally via condenser microphones on a 'state of the art' Nagra recorder by the legendary Owsley "Bear" Stanley, the audio archivist for "the Dead", The Flying Burritos Bros. were their opening act for the Grateful Dead on these two memorable shows! As an audio bonus, included is an even rarer practice recording of Gram at the piano, singing "1000 Dollar Wedding" and "When Will I Be Loved".

With permission from the band, Gram's Estate and Universal Music (who now controlling A&M Records artists rights) this incredible sounding 2 CD SET is handsomely packaged in a standard CD size, hardbound 20 page book (see picture) of notes, commentaries and never before published photographs.
